Tarka Holiday Park apply to join the David Bellamy Award Scheme
Over the last three years we have embarked on a tree and shrub planting programme, not only does this provide screening for our Park, but it enhances the natural boundaries in a far more eco-friendly manner. Thousands of bulbs of various varieties and colours have been planted in and around the flower beds and borders of the Park grounds. The streams have been cleared and beautiful clear spring water now runs through the centre of the Park. It almost seems that the local sparrows, finches, blue tits, great tits and bull finches not to mention the screech owl late in the evening, enjoy nesting and busying themselves in the trees, shrubs and bushes. We are pleased to announce that we have been awarded the David Bellamy Silver Conservation Award.

We welcome to our Park the staff of the Devon Wildlife Trust -
North Devon voluntary Marine Conservation area. For the first time this year they have joined us, and their office is next to the main reception block. Barbara and her team play an important role in the education of local children and interested parties who raise awareness of the local marine environment - they meet on the beaches and local "eco areas". We wish them good luck with their efforts.
