Spanning 180 miles of countryside, the Tarka Trail is one of the best ways to appreciate the stunning North Devon countryside. Take a leisurely walk or cycle ride from the park and you’ll be on the trail’s traffic-free tarmac pathway in no time. This closest section of the trail to the park follows alongside the meandering banks of the rivers Taw & Torridge (famous for it’s Tarka The Otter connections) and winds its way down past the lovely beach at Instow and on through the countryside to Torrington. A beautiful walk or ride to see wildlife and nature at its best.
Other sections of the Trail can take you along rugged cliffs, across breathtaking wild moorland or enjoying golden sands and sparkling bays. How you explore the Tarka Trail is up to you.
